GAME PRESENTATION - SCRIPT

CONCEPT
  • Liam Banks is also a young American born and raised but again like his twin sister his roots lie within St. Lucia.
  • My game bases around two twins, one named Liam and the other Arianna.
  • Sent on a mission within the amazon rainforest to find a plant, which holds the cure to their father’s illness.  
  • This  plant in which they are looking for is named the “Graptopetalum Paraguayense” also known as "the ghost plant" 
  • This particular plant can only be found deep within the amazon rainforest, hence why the whole adventure aspect of the game is set there. 
  • The year now is 2013 both Arianna and Liam are 18 and their father has been diagnosed with an awful disease which has lead him to be bed bound. John was diagnosed a week before Arianna and Liam found out.
  • The problem is, is that John roughly has about another month to live before he passes away. Unless they are able to gain access to the "ghost plant"
JOHN BANKS
  • Arianna and Liam are both twins and the children to their father John Banks; John Banks is an ex agent who went into early retirement due to his wife giving birth to both Arianna and Liam and during the birth she passed away. 
  • John was born in 1962 January 18th it was his choice to join the secret services at the age of 18. John is now 51 and retired at the age of 33, after giving 15 years of your life to one profession which also involves death at every corner can give a guy a variety of enemies.
  • The year was 1995 June 6th that the twins were born where John lost the ONE source to his happiness... but then gained two. John, put all his heart and soul to  raising his children as he was completely aware that the route of his work would gain him some hardcore enemies he made sure that once he passed away his children had the required skills to take care of themselves if anything was to ever happen to them.
WHEN SPEAKING ABOUT ARIANNA AND LIAM MAKE SURE TO MENTION THE LINK BETWEEN STORM BREAKER AND THE SIMILAR UPBRINGING WHICH TOOK PLACE FOR 'ALEX RIDER'
ARIANNA BANKS
  • My main character is named Arianna Banks. 
  • I designed this character based around the worldwide and well-known female heroine ‘Lara Croft’ the reason behind this is because there aren’t enough female heroins within the 21st century and I think it was time for a change. 
  • The connotations behind my character are, that the clothing she wears implies that the game is based within a jungle; the colours used ‘green and kaki’ emphasies that the game is based within a jungle type location. As it is usually known as 'Camouflage' 
  • The clothing I have chosen to give my character, completely contrasts with those of your mainstream female character who has some part of her skin showing. I have still given my female character that certain edge, whereby she has that provocative sense in terms of her top which is skin tight exposing her body shape.  
  • I have given her a motor vehicle, to again beat the stereotypical viewpoint of there only being one particular type of female, which is perky and sweet. My concept behind the motorcycle was that motor types are considered to be associated with males as it shows ruthlessness and a sense of danger; which is constantly only ever considered with the male hero.  I wanted to completely flip this concept and base it on Banks to show that females can also be dangerous and ruthless.
  • The choice of clothing was based on the jungle theme I wanted to place her in therefore the cargo pants and boots seemed appropriate. 
  • Her chosen weapon (The swords) I have given to her as her one weapon that she is the master of controlling/ using. I chose swords, because I wanted her to have a connection with her weaponry by this I mean that yes it is a weapon that she uses but there’s a deeper meaning as to why she is so good at using them. John Banks, taught her when she was just a little girl, because as stated before he wanted to make sure that his children were able to look after themselves if anything bad was to ever happen to him. -LINK TO ALEX RIDER-
  • The whole concept again of a female being given a blade is beating your typical female look. It's quite old fashioned in a sense that a female shouldn't be handed a weapon in the first place. Which again goes against yet reinforces my outlook on my character.
LIAM BANKS
  • Liam is not only a brother but a son, therefore I wanted his character to in a sense be a younger version of their father, John.
  • Liam in a lot of ways is similar to his father in a sense that he still holds that compassion and sense of protectiveness over both his father and sister.
  • Liam and Arianna due to them being twins I have also made them to be 'best friends' this being because Arianna has been brought up by a single father but at the same time her twin brother; both being the same age they have shared every experience together. 
  • Liam as the main male character is compassionate therefore he (like Arianna) beats the typical "hard and sour" male look which is given to your typical male character.
  • Liam and Arianna are best friends as well as twins. Therefore through his character, I wanted to make sure this is put across... Strongly. Hence the reason, why I have made him her companion. 
  • {{This would be shown through a cut scene in the introduction of the actual game, whereby the story line is explained through an and Arianna offers to search for the ghost plant on her own; but Liam will not allow her to go on her own. Thus, the journey begins.
TARGET AUDIENCE
  • My chosen target audience for this particular game, would be 16+ due to it being an action/ violent game. Evoking from the player, a sense of longing to finish the game/ an emotional connection.
  • I believe that the individual who will in fact be playing this game, will feel an absolute connection to one of the characters which is why when giving the game an actual back story I based it around actual events that would happen to an everyday person like you and I. E.g. the death of both Liam and Arianna's mother.
ORIGINAL INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
  • The idea of this game, is quite unique in terms of the amount of characters that I have. It's quite minimal as there are only three main characters 'Arianna, Liam and John' who are all related. Then throughout the game we are introduced to different 'villains' who each have their own agenda. They all have their personal issues as to why they want to see John Banks dead.
  • The game itself I would say is quite unique in terms of what it is that both Arianna and Liam are after. A plant, which won't save the earth, no not their city but ONE person. This person hasn't been, kidnapped they're ill.
INSPIRATION
  • The inspiration for this game in terms of the journey and the adventure aspect came from the 'Tomb Raider' as it is quite full on whereby it ranges from searching/ riddles to actual battles and action.
  • Tomb Raider as stated before was also, my inspiration for the character 'Arianna' 
  • I have created my character again like I said based on the very popular Lara Croft; in terms of Lara croft she was the first female game heroine to have been put in a situation whereby she could face the same tasks as a male would and still be able to tackle them which is something I really wanted to implement and put across through my character. Banks is portrayed this way through not only her vehicle but also her clothing and weaponry.
  • "Since the release of the original Tomb Raider in 1996, notable for its female protagonist, the series developed into a lucrative franchise of related media, and Lara went on to become a major icon of the virtual gaming industry."
FRANCHISE POSSIBILITY?
  • I guess there is a possibility of the game turning into a franchise. Say, the two main characters end up following in their fathers footsteps and become actual agents. Therefore the next game could base around the individual who plays as the protagonist and that they are able to choose which character they want 'John, Arianna or Liam' (themselves) to be portrayed as. After this they are able to choose which stage or level it is that they want to be placed in. Within these stages they are able to have battles amongst themselves or the enemies that were seen within the original game 'Oh Father' 
  • In a sense if there was to be a franchise, then it would be in the style of an arcade game or turned into a film. In terms of the film, it would basically be the original game just turned into an adventure-action film; much like 'Lara Croft' However the original game was released before the actual film therefore the whole idea of my converting my game into a film could work in the aspect of taking the three main characters and turning them into icons.
  • In terms of joining a company to create the actual game, I would join up with both Core Design and Infinity Ward. Core design, because they have previously worked on the creation of the actual 'Tomb Raider' game therefore when creating the scenery/ characters this particular company could help in this aspect. Not making it completely the same as the 'Tomb Raider' franchise but giving it small elements in which fans of the actual game would want to play something similar.
  • Infinity Award, because they are one of the main creators for 'Call Of Duty' and because my game is base around action-adventure I wanted their to be a strong sense of violence mixed into the game so that when it does come to a battle it has enough graphics/ a more brutal sense to it rather than your average 'beat em ups' type graphic.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION

LEON ABRAHAMS
  • Leon Abrahams is one of many villains, and one of Johns most eldest enemies. Leon's first encounter with John was in France, Paris. 
  • Leon is 45
  • Leon is known amongst many as THE person to go to when looking for drugs. 
  • Leon, has many connections and is not only a small town drug dealer but was popular for the sly way that he was able to ship in drugs from countries such as Russia and Germany.
  • LEON HAS JUST ESCAPED FROM A 10 YEAR PRISON SENTENCE.
MOE AND TAD
  • Moe and Tad are Somalian Pirates.
  • They were caught again by John, and met upon the East Sea in an attempt to flee from Japan; after robbing a passer by ship which contained jewels etc.
  • John was able to capture them and lead the ship back to Japan but as soon as he had returned back to Japan, he turned his back from a split second and they were both gone.
  • Moe and Tad have been on the search for John Banks for a month now and hear of his news through word of mouth.
NINA SATO
  • Nina Sato, alongside Moe and Tad have been working alongside in terms of selling objects from Japan to countries on the black market within America, London etc.
  • Nina, has never encountered John Banks but when she heard that he was the reason for her plan failing she has never wanted to hold someones cold body within her hands as much as she has for John Banks.
PREQUEL?
  • In terms of a prequel as stated before if I was ever to turn the game into a franchise then the first movie would be like the original game 'Oh Father' 
  • If the first movie is a success, then there may be hope for a prequel within the movies. However, I think in terms of the game it self it would only be limited to an Arcade version.
